The 2017 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel, honors excellence in film, television and new media productions, in addition to acknowledging the driving forces who shape our profession.

Screen Producers Australia is delighted by the diverse slate and record number of awards and nominations for our members at the 2017 AACTA Awards,” said Screen Producers Australia CEO, Matt Deaner.

The AACTA awards which encompass the industry luncheon on Monday and the gala Awards held on Wednesday night in Sydney, reflected a diverse and comprehensive recognition of the SME’s that constitute SPA’s membership that create, devices and export film, television and cross platform productions to Australia and to the world.

Award highlights include See-Saw Film’s production Lion achieving recognition with 12 awards across both award ceremonies. “It has been so gratifying to see an all-Australian story storm the world stage,” said See-Saw Films CEO Emile Sherman said in his acceptance speech. See-Saw Films were also honoured in the television category for their work on Top Of The Lake: China Girl. “The economic and cultural dividends that come from our storytelling are just enormous.
